Department Overview
The Department of Environmental Studies at Western Washington University takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complex relationships between people and the environment. ENVS prepares students to address real‑world challenges in sustainability, planning, policy, and environmental justice through hands‑on learning, research, and community engagement. The program combines social science, natural science, and design to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to create meaningful change in their communities and beyond.
