Highlights

1. Updates to the password requirements for service accounts, vendor accounts, and other non-standard accounts are scheduled for were implemented 5/1 as previously communicated.

2. EIS has contacted departments who may be using the Pending confirmation from one more department, EIS will dismantle the process that creates non-mail-enabled AD security groups that are generated nightly based on Banner Employee Type Code (e.g. “grp.Employees.Faculty”). Pending final confirmation that the groups are unused, they will be deleted today and the underlying process that creates them will be dismantled. Dynamic email distribution groups will not be impacted by this change.EIS and ATUS have begun discussion on the possibility of enabling In-Place Archiving on all Western email accounts, and setting automatic archive policies for users. The CAB will meet 5/8 to identify the list of stakeholders who need to be involved in that discussiongroups from Banner attributes.

3. EIS will implement auto-archiving for mailboxes on litigation hold. Additional archive policies will wait until Fall terms, when we can discuss with business unit leaders across the divisions.
