Highlights

1. To help address bandwidth constraints on our primary internet circuit during peak hours, we will be moving all The network team was unsuccessful in splitting out residence hall traffic to the secondary internet circuit on Monday, 2/5.Additionally, EIS will be adding additional interconnects reduce bandwidth constraints. The team is reviewing its configurations and will try again at a date-to-be-determined.

3. Shannon Point will receive a network upgrade at the end of February, including a change in internet service provider.

4. ATUS will roll Microsoft has pushed out the new Teams client to all users the week of February 13th, before Microsoft makes the upgrade mandatory on 3/31. This update is for Teams only. A new Outlook client is also available, but remains optional at this timeahead of schedule. The largest impact has been that the client resets to Grid View by default, and if users want a List View, they need to select it from Settings > Appearance and Accessibility.

5. ITS is working with University Communications and Print and Copy Services to investigate publishing the important dates on the university’s paper calendar via Outlook.

6. ATUS has rolled out Windows 11 as a required update to all managed Windows PCs on campus that are capable of running it.
