Highlights

1. Pending further review from outside consultants, EIS will configure Routing changes for Residence Hall internet traffic to prefer a different internet connection from academic/administrative networks starting at 5am this Thursday, 2/15. This will reduce the load on our primary internet connection by 25%-50% during peak hours, which should improve connectivity for important services like the Testing Center and the Student Health Center.

2. Shannon Point will receive a network upgrade at the end of February, including a change in internet service provider.

3. Deployment of an additional wireless network authentication server has been delayed pending completion of the Residence Hall routing changes abovetraffic were implemented on 2/15 to address bandwidth constraints on campus.

4. Shannon Point’s network upgrades and internet service provider change are both in progress.

5. Additional network changes that were scheduled to happen during the cluster outages are being queued and rescheduled now that we have achieved cluster stability.

6. Several emergency changes were made to the HCI cluster in response to the stability issues of the last two weeks. Some additional changes will be implemented in the coming days, including enabling more CPU cores in the cluster.

7. ITS is working with University Communications and Print and Copy Services to investigate publishing the important dates on the university’s paper calendar via Outlook.Further work on disabling custom scripts in the university’s SharePoint environment has been postponed, pending completion of higher-priority work.
