How to Request Time Off
Step 1: Email Your Manager
Compose an Email:
Subject Line: "Time Off Request - [Your Name]"
Body of the Email:
Request Details:
Date and Time Off: Specify the date(s) and time(s) you wish to take off.
Reason for Request: Provide a brief reason for your time off request (e.g., medical appointment, vacation, personal day).
Impact on Work: Mention any potential impact on your current projects and how you plan to mitigate it (e.g., delegating tasks, completing tasks before leave).
Closing: Thank your manager for considering your request and express willingness to discuss if needed.
Step 2: Wait for Approval
Manager's Response:
Wait for an email response from your manager approving your time off request.
If your manager has questions or needs further clarification, respond promptly.
Step 3: Request Time Off in MS Teams via the Shifts App
Open MS Teams:
Go to the Shifts app in MS Teams.
Submit Time Off Request:
Navigate to Shifts: Click on the Shifts app in the left-hand sidebar.
Open Your Schedule: Find your schedule and click on the date you want to request off.
Request Time Off: Click on “Request time off” and fill in the required details (e.g., date, type of leave, notes).
Submit Request: Review your request for accuracy and click “Submit.”
Confirmation:
Once your manager approves the request in the Shifts app, you will receive a notification.
Step 4: Prepare for Your Absence
Delegate Tasks:
Inform your colleagues about your upcoming absence and delegate any critical tasks.
Provide necessary instructions and ensure all relevant information is accessible.
Set Out-of-Office Reply (if applicable):
