Software managementInstallation: Installation via ParallelsLaunch Parallels on Mac: Open the Parallels Desktop application on your Mac. Ensure you have a Windows 11 virtual machine running. Download the File: Click on the link to download the Netica_Win_609.zip file to your computer. Open Windows Explorer in Parallels: Press Command + E on your Mac keyboard to open Windows Explorer within Parallels. Create a Folder on Your System Drive: Click on This PC in the left pane. Double-tap on the C: drive. Right-click and select New > Folder. Name the new folder Netica 609 and press Enter.
Unzip the Files: Locate the Netica_Win_609.zip file in your Downloads folder. Right-click on the file and select Extract All.... Choose the Netica 609 folder on your C: drive as the destination for extraction.
Create a Shortcut: Go to the Netica 609 folder on your C: drive. Find Netica.exe, right-click on it, and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut) to add a shortcut to your desktop.
Installation via Wine (Planned)Install Wine on macOS:Open Terminal on your Mac. Install Homebrew (if you haven’t not already installed): Copy code /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
Install Wine using Homebrew: Copy code brew install --cask wine-stable
Please note that wine-stable is built for Intel macOS and so requires Rosetta 2 to be installed when running on Apple Silicon Macs. You can install Rosetta 2 with: Code Block | softwareupdate If you're using an Apple Silicon Mac, install Rosetta 2 to enable compatibility: Copy code softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license
Allow Wine to run as an unidentified developer: Settings>Privacy and scroll to the bottom then allow Wine-Stable to run even though it is from an unidentified developer.Download the Netica Installer: Click on the link to download the

https://www.norsys.com/downloads/old_versions/Netica_Win_609.zip file to your computer Locate the downloaded file in Finder. Extract the Files: Locate the Netica_Win_609.zip file and extract it using macOS’s built-in unzip utility or another extraction tool.
Run the application: Open finder and Navigate to the directory where you extracted the files The icon for Netica.exe should appear as a wine glass, this indicates that wine will be used to open the application At this time it’s a good idea to create a shortcut to the Netica.exe to make access easier in the future This is done by right clicking on the file then clicking Make Alias this alias then may be moved wherever you wish
When prompted, enter the License keyfile by right-clicking it and selecting Open With > Archive Utility (or use another extraction tool).
Run Netica:Navigate to the folder containing the extracted files in Finder. Double-click the Netica.exe file. Wine will launch the program.
Create a Shortcut:Right-click Netica.exe in Finder. Select Make Alias. Move the alias to your desktop or another convenient location for quick access.
Activate the License:When Netica launches, enter the license key provided by Nancy Larson (larsonn@wwu.edu).
