Highlights

  • Banner will be down for critical updates during business hours on 3/28 and 3/29 (the Thursday and Friday of Spring Break).

  • Shannon Point network upgrades are complete, and their internet service has been switched to Anacortes Municipal Fiber.

  • Archive Building is the next site scheduled for building network upgrades, on 3/26.

  • ATUS is currently phasing out TLS 1.1 support on Windows PCs. TLS 1.1 is a very old, insecure protocol, and eliminating it should have no impact as the next version up (TLS 1.2) has been available since 2008.

  • EIS is coordinating with Campus Services occupants to find a time to reboot their building switch to apply configuration changes.

  • During next week’s Patch Tuesday evening maintenance window, EIS will update and reboot the internal mail relay server.

  • New VPN Concentrators have been configured, with a cutover tentatively scheduled for the second week of Spring Term.

  • ITS is circling July 1 as an implementation date for providing an Outlook Calendar version of the univeristy’s paper calendars.

    • EIS network team is working on scheduling a test of firewall failover for campus internet traffic.
