Highlights

  1. TLS 1.1 and lower continues to be shut down across all Windows servers throughout the month of June. The change has been applied to over 80% of EIS-managed Windows servers.

  2. Network upgrades in Buchanan Towers begin 7/5.

  3. Throughout the next few months, many servers will experience a 10-30 minute outage each as they are migrated from Nutanix to HCI. EIS and the project manager are working with system owners on those migrations – most of them will not be communicated here, but outages will be communicated to impacted stakeholders by the system owners or the project team, when appropriate. Outages of critical systems with major impacts will be communicated in advance to a wider audience, and tracked here.

  4. In the next two weeks, EIS, plans to enable Quarantined Email notifications to end-users on a weekly cadence. Once per week, if a user has messages in their Quarantine, they will receive an automated email from the ATUS Help Desk informing them of how to check Quarantine, delete malicious emails, and release false positives.

  5. The legacy static website service known as Campus Web will be decommissioned on or after 12/31/23. ATUS, WebTech, and distributed IT will work with site owners to migrate any sites on Campus Web that need to stay online.

  6. See the PMO web page at https://eas.wwu.edu for updates on current enterprise IT projects.
