Highlights

  1. During the next few Patch Tuesday evening reboots, ~50 servers with static memory allocations will be converted to dynamic memory, to reduce the overall memory pressure on the cluster.

  2. ATUS will institute new security settings in SharePoint to block custom scripts, sometime in November.

  3. Software updates to wireless access points will be deployed on November 7th, causing a rolling outage of wireless networking across campus between 6:00am-7:30am.

  4. The wireless network client certificate will be updated in December. This will move our annual renewal cycle from Summer to Winter, which will reduce the impact on students and faculty who leave in the summer and are forced to update their clients at the start of Fall term.

  5. The AI/AW building complex will be without wired or wireless network services 12/12-12/22, while the network equipment is replaced.

  6. The legacy static website service known as Campus Web will be decommissioned on or after 12/31/23. ATUS, WebTech, and distributed IT will work with site owners to migrate any sites on Campus Web that need to stay online.

  7. See the Project Management Office web page at https://eas.wwu.edu for updates on current enterprise IT projects.
