Purpose
This document provides guidance on the installation, configuration, and management of SimaPro software, specifically for use in the College of the Environment (CENV) and Engineering departments at Western Washington University.
Audience
This documentation is intended for IT administrators, faculty, and staff who are responsible for managing and using SimaPro in the departments of Environmental Science, Engineering, and Design.

Software Management
Server Installation
Make sure that Remote Management and Remote Desktop are enabled on the server.
Install the SimaPro multi-user client on a shared directory accessible to the target group. C:\SimaPro
Copy the SimaPro.LCS file to the shared directory (default location: C:\ProgramData\SimaProLicense\Multi).
Create a shortcut to SimaPro.exe on all users’ desktops or start menus.
Use command line parameters for the shortcut as outlined in the vendor’s installation manual.
Network Share: The SimaPro software and database can be accessed via the following network paths:
Server Path: \\Simapro.eis.wwu.edu\SimaPro
Public Shared Path: \\r2d2.smate.wwu.edu\data1\Public
Client Installation
The SimaPro client is available for installation through the Software Center. Users can locate it under the application name "SimaPro." If the Software Center is not available on your device, please contact IT support for assistance.
Steps for Installing via Software Center:
Open Software Center:
Press the Windows key on your keyboard or click the Start button.
In the search bar, type Software Center.
Select Software Center from the search results. If you do not see Software Center, please contact IT support.
Once Software Center is open, type SimaPro in the search bar.
Select the SimaPro application from the list and click Install.
Wait for the installation to complete.
Once installed, the client can be accessed directly through the network share. The SimaPro executable can be launched via the following network path:

\\SIMAPRO.eis.wwu.edu\SimaPro\SimaPro.exe /Server:simapro.eis.wwu.edu /Alias:default /Database:Professional
Steps for Accessing the Client:
Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
Copy and paste the following path:
\\SIMAPRO.eis.wwu.edu\SimaPro\SimaPro.exe /Server:simapro.eis.wwu.edu /Alias:default /Database:Professional
Press Enter. This will launch the SimaPro client, connecting you to the designated server and default database.
