My iPhone/iPad/macOS Mail and Calendar app no longer accepts my password
Problem
You are using a macOS or iOS device to sync your WWU email and/or calendar to the Apple Mail and/or Calendar app. It has worked in the past, but now it keeps prompting you to enter your password and will not accept it.
Solution
Make sure your password is still working by signing into your Outlook mailbox on the Web at https://outlook.office365.com. Sign in using your username@wwu.edu. If your password works on the Web, but not on your device, you might need to delete your WWU account from your device’s mail/calendar accounts and add it again.
iOS: Open the Settings app and go to Passwords & Accounts
macOS: choose Mail > Preferences, click Accounts, then click Account Information.
Select your WWU mail/calendar account to open it. If you see the option to Re-enter your password, tap that and follow the prompts to enter your WWU universal password. If you have Multi-factor authentication enabled, you may be prompted to approve the sign in as well.
If re-entering your password does not resolve the issue: Then tap or click the Delete Account button
Tap or click the Add Account button and select Microsoft Exchange as the account type
Enter your username@wwu.edu and tap or click NEXT
If prompted, choose the Sign-In option and do not attempt to manually configure. You should be able to sign in normally using your username@wwu.edu and the same password you entered for outlook.office365.com.
It may take several minutes for your calendar items to synchronize.
If the steps above do not resolve your issue, please install the Outlook app from the Apple App Store.
While the mail and calendar apps for Apple devices may work with WWU email and calendar, we do not fully support them. Our fully supported mail/calendar apps include:
Current Outlook clients for macOS (part of the Office 2016/Office 365 Office suite)
The free Outlook app for iOS that is available from the App Store
Outlook for the Web (https://outlook.office365.com)
