Guest accounts for visitors

Visitors can use our public Wi-Fi without an account

Anyone can connect a personal mobile device to WWUwireless-Guest by simply reading and agreeing to the terms of service. If a visitor also needs to be able to sign into university-owned computers in the labs, classrooms, or offices they will need a guest account.

Guest accounts provide access for official visitors to campus for one day. The checkout period is up until 11:59:59 p.m. of the day the account is created.

Create an individual guest account

Guest accounts can be created by Help Desk Tier 2 staff, ATUS Associate Director, or Exchange administrators in PowerShell Dashboard. User must require access for a legitimate university purpose, which include academic or administrative functions, as well as services provided by campus departments (e.g., OCE, Athletics, Career Services).

Some guests, particularly presenters, may need Microsoft 365 licensed accounts so they can sign into those applications on a university workstation. Microsoft licenses can be assigned in the PowerShell Dashboard.

Cost: Departments requesting guest accounts for their customers are charged $5/account although there are discounts for larger numbers of accounts requested. To bill departments, forward the following to ATUS Admin Services Manager: # of accounts, dates of accounts, requesting department, budget code, and contact information. There currently is not a different cost for accounts used for longer than one day or for those that need an additional software license.

Requests should be made by using the Guest Account Jira form. Request guest accounts for Wi-Fi and campus computers - Help Desk - Jira Service Management (atlassian.net)

NOTE

An individual login account must be created for each guest. Sharing the username or password with anyone other than the assigned guest is prohibited. Guests must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy
