Alumni and former employee access to resources (Help Desk)

For alumni and former employees who need access to transcripts and other Western data.

Alumni and former employees who need to access unofficial transcripts or tax forms will need to contact the Help Desk at 360-650-3333 for assistance.

In order to confirm your identity, the Help Desk staff will need to ask you questions that involve personally identifiable information. This information should never be communicated via email, so it is important to contact the Help Desk by telephone.

Registering your alternate phone number or email for password recovery (Help Desk)

Your WWU Microsoft Office 365 account allows you to recover or change your universal password without contacting the ATUS Help Desk for assistance, but for this to work you need to have an authentication point of contact registered. This can be an external non-WWU email address, or a personal mobile phone number capable of receiving calls or text messages. This information will be stored securely in your WWU Office 365 account. Microsoft will not share this information or use it for any purpose other than for receiving a verification code that will allow you to unlock your account or change a forgotten password.

Don't Lose Access to Your Account: Set Your Alternate Contact Information (Help Desk)

To make sure you don’t lose access to your account, you can set up alternate contact information. Microsoft can then send a code to your alternate contact phone (e.g., mobile) or email address so you can unlock your account if you ever forget your password.

    Service Accounts (Help Desk)

    What Is a Service Account?

A service account is a special user account that is created explicitly to provide a security context for services. The security context determines the service's ability to access local and network resources. That security context should have the least amount of privileges needed to do its tasks. Service accounts run automated business processes and are typically found stored in system services, scheduled tasks, COM objects, web servers, SharePoint, databases, scripts and applications. They can be created automatically when installing a program or package, or you may create one locally or request one from ITS.
