Map Network Drives on a Chromebook
You can mount network shares from on campus while connected to WWUwireless-Secure. From off campus internet connections you will need to connect to VPN first.
You must have permission to use the VPN before you can connect. You will also need to have permission to the resource you are trying to connect to.
Connecting to VPN
Install the Cisco AnyConnect app from the Chrome Web Store (NOTE: Newer versions of ChromeOS have built-in support for SMB shares, so this step may not be necessary.)
- It may take a few minutes for the extension to initialize immediately after installation. Once it completes you will be able to add a connection.
- Add a connection to the following server: remotevpn.wwu.edu and enter your universal username and password.
- Save the Connection
To connect to VPN, click on the notification area in the lower right corner of ChromeOS and select VPN to connect to remotevpn.wwu.edu
Once you are connected you can mount a network drive.
