Teams App vs Web Features
Teams Web Application Vs. Desktop Application
Most functions are available with both versions of Teams, but there are some differences. The differences are outlined below:
Desktop Application Settings Menu
Web Application Settings Menu
The biggest differences between the two versions is that the Desktop Application has settings for which devices should be used for calling functions, and there is a sections for application permissions options as well. These two sections are completely missing in the Web App version. All of the other sections in settings that appear in both version have the same options with the exception of the General area. This is different depending on whether you are using the desktop application or the web version of the program. The differences on the General section are outlined below.
In the General section of the desktop program settings there are options for using the new meeting experience, and how the application runs.
The Web app general settings only allow for general language options and also allows you to select delegates that can receive calls on your behalf.
Browser Application: Only one window for the call, any navigation elsewhere in Teams must be done in the same window.
Desktop Application: 2 windows, one for the call and one for the Teams Application
